Troubleshooting Low Voltage at 12V Pin on Dodge Ram 7-Way Connector
Question:
When I test the 12 volt lead, I am only getting a reading of 6-7 volts. How can I fix this, or am I testing it wrong?

If your Dodge Ram is running, you should be getting a full 12 volts when testing the corresponding pin (1 o'clock position) on the 7-Way connector. The low voltage likely indicates an issue somewhere along the wiring on the truck. You can inspect the wires for any damaged or exposed areas that need to be replaced.
An easier option may be to simply bypass the factory wiring. You can do this by running 10 gauge wire # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot) from the 7-Way to the positive battery post. You will need to use a circuit breaker like # 9510 near the battery.
