Trailer Suspension Hanger 115917 is Too Wide to Use with Shackle Straps
Question:
The hangers are 1 3/4 wide inside for my 1 3/4” spring eyes.. When I add the shackle to the rear hanger, the shackle inside diameter for the spring eye is 2 1/4” wide! Do I need. 2 3/8” washers for the spring eye?

Expert Reply:
Hanger # 115917 can function as a rear hanger for a tandem or triple axle set up but it is too wide to be used as a rear hanger in a single axle application. Since you already have them you could use washers to equal out the width between the hanger and the spring.
Or you could go with hanger # 93003-3X which is more narrow and thus would be a proper fit without washers.
