Accessing Mounting Hardware for Fulton XLT Trailer Winch # F142418

I want to replace my T3205 with 10,000 XLT. I dont understand how base plate mounts, does it come off? Do you remove winch cover to access three mounting bolts? Thanks for your quick response, fish to catch!

To access the mounting bolts of the Fulton XLT 2-Speed Trailer Winch with Heavy Duty 20' Strap # F142418 that you referenced you'll have to remove the plastic cover since the cover does obstruct access to it.
