Troubleshooting Low Battery Error Code on Blue Ox Patriot Supplemental Braking System

Question:

Trying to bypass vehicles battery thus not accumulating miles on chevy colorado. Hooked up 12 volt outlet system and plugged blue ox patriot braking system into it. Blue ox is showing low car battery.... what did I do wrong?

There's no way to avoid accumulating miles on a vehicle that's being flat towed. Sometimes you get lucky and if the vehicle key isn't on the miles don't add up but other times there's no way to get around it. And any attempt to will most likely get you in some trouble.

The 04 low battery alert code of the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR indicates that either the towed car's battery is depleted or that there is another issue such as a dirty 12V power outlet that is not passing enough power. The cigarette lighter outlet that powers the Patriot must output at least 13.1 volts for proper operation.

Check the condition of the vehicle battery to ensure it is fully charged; you can use an AC-power charger like # CTEK56353 to ensure the toad battery is fully charged before heading out.
