Solution for Front Mount Hitch Hitting Pavement on 2015 GMC Sierra 3500

Question:

I have your 65050 front end hitch on my Sierra, and am pleased with it. My sister had a front end hitch installed on their 2015 3500 GMC duramax, and find it drags on uneven terrain. Do you market a front end hitch for their truck, with the same receiver / frame height as the 65050?

We do have a couple front-mount trailer hitches available that are confirmed to fit your sister's 2015 GMC Sierra 3500. When we installed the Curt Front Mount Hitch # C31071 on this model Sierra, which is the model I recommend, we measured a distance of 9-3/4 inches from the ground to the top of the receiver. I am not sure how this compares to the hitch currently installed on the truck, but you can take a quick measurement to see if it will provide a positive change in ground clearance.

I have attached the installation video that you can use for reference.

Another option might be to simply add a skid wheel like the Roadmaster Rollaway Hitch Protector # RM-050. This will slide into most 2 inch hitch receivers and will prevent the hitch from dragging on pavement with its solid steel roller. I have attached a short video demonstration on this product so you can see exactly how it works.
