Troubleshooting Right Turn Signal Not Working on Trailer
Question:
I purchased part # 118266 last month. I installed it this past week. Everything was super easy. But when I hooked it up to the trailer 2018 jumping jack I have no right turn signal. I installed the relays under the kick panel. I checked the fuses, ground connections and harness connections. Running lights work all the way around, LT signal works as does the hazards on the left side but nothing on the right. It’s a 2015 Nissan Frontier pro4x with less than 10k miles so all components are brand new. Any help is appreciated.

If just the right turn signal is not working after installing the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118266 on your vehicle, I first recommend using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test the newly installed 7-Way. This will let you determine if the issue is on the vehicle side or trailer side. You can have a buddy sit in the vehicle and activate the right turn signal while you test the corresponding pin on the 7-Way (3 o'clock position). If you do not get power there with the turn signal activated, then you know the issue is somewhere on the vehicle. Even though it seems like you already checked this, you will want to verify that there are no missing or damaged fuses, along with making sure the wiring is all securely connected.
If you do receive power at the 7-Way, then you know the issue is somewhere on the trailer. When just one function is not working on a trailer, the cause is usually a weak or bad ground. Make sure your ground connections are made to clean, bare metal surfaces free of any dirt or corrosion. You can also check the ground of the light assembly itself, whether it grounds through its mounting hardware or with a dedicated ground wire. Also check to make sure that the trailer side connector is free of any built-up dirt or rust and that there are no frayed or exposed areas on the right turn wire (usually green).
If you are still having issues, please let me know and I will be happy to look into this further.
