Rear Suspension Enhancement Helper Springs for a 2014 Ram 1500 2-Wheel Drive

Question:

Hi, I have a 2014 dodge 1500 V6 2WD. It is a quad cab and has about a 200 LB fiberglass topper on it. I am wanting to get a camper and maybe tow something up to 7,000 LBS or less. what would be the best thing to help.

For your 2014 Ram 1500 2-wheel drive I recommend the SumoSprings # SSR-307-40. This type of spring will have a little more give compared to other styles of jounce springs so when you are not towing or carrying a camper in the bed the unloaded ride quality won't be as stiff.

I would avoid air bags since your truck has rear coil springs and the air bags for those can get damaged since they fit inside of the coil springs. The exception though is Air Lift kit # AL57365 which mounts to the frame. If you go with this kit then you will have the most adjustability for various loads.

If you do decide to go with the Air Lift kit I also recommend adding a compressor system, # AL25592, so you can adjust the air pressure from the comfort of the truck cab and not need to use an external compressor.
