How to Carry Two Kayaks on a 2015 Nissan Rogue
Question:
Hi there! I am trying to determine the safest mechanical means to carry two kayaks on a 2015 Nissan Rogue with factory side rails. As I read, I believe I need a cross bar package in addition to the kayak carrier itself. Would you be so kind as to recommend options for this set-up with if possible total weight carrying capacity for the set-up?

Absolutely! In order to carry two kayaks on the roof of your 2015 Nissan Rogue you will need a set of crossbars and set of kayak carriers. For the crossbars, I recommend using the Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack part # MPG215. These crossbars have an aero shape which will work to reduce wind drag and noise. They also have integrated t-slots and come with locks.
Then for the kayak carriers, I recommend using two sets of the Malone DownLoader Kayak Carrier part # MPG114MD. These carriers come with tie-downs to secure the kayaks and padded bars to protect them. The best thing about them however is that you can use the TelosXL Load Assist part # MPG351XL to load them on the vehicle all by yourself.
The crossbars have a weight capacity of 165 lbs however you will want to check your vehicle's owner's manual for the vehicle's roof weight capacity as the lower of the two (rack/vehicle) will be your limiting factor. I have attached a review video of the rack, carrier, and load assist for you as well.
