Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for 2017 Toyota RAV4

Im confused on your responses. It sounds like you are saying the #1 recommendation is a trunk mounted bike rack due to the low rated capacity. But in other answers you say the hitch mounted rack is ok and give instructions for it. ?????

Whenever available the hitch mounted bike rack options are the way to go. Hitch options provide the easiest to load/unload, the most secure mounting location, and they don't touch any painted surfaces.

You'll need a hitch installed on your 2017 Toyota RAV4 like the etrailer part # e98864 and then you'll be able to install a lightweight hitch rack.

I really like the Saris Freedom Superclamp part # SA4025F. This is a lightweight platform rack (which is normally an unheard-of combo). That means it'll be easy to install and remove from your vehicle since it's light, but also, it'll be very easy to load bikes on since it's a platform rack.

This rack also only touches bikes at the tire so it protects any damage to delicate frame materials like your carbon fiber bike.
