Will a Reese Weight Distribution Shank Fit a Ford 2-1/2 Inch OEM Hitch

Will the Reese RP54976 2 1/2inch WD shank fit my new 2017 Ford F350 w/ 2 1/2inch receiver and my Reese WD head for trunnion bars I am currently using on a 2inch Reese WD shank?

The Reese Titan Weight Dist Shank part # RP54976 should fit into the 2-1/2" receiver tube opening on your 2017 Ford F-350. However, I cannot say for certain as they have not been tested and confirmed to fit. The problem is that some of the 2-1/2" OEM Ford trailer hitches do not withhold the same industry standard tolerance as most do so there are certain situations in which the shank will and will not fit. In most cases it will fit and in some, minor trimming/sanding is needed.
With that being said you could also use an adapter like part # C45405 but you will still run into the same issue listed above. If the shank does fit, then you can use it to upgrade the Reese weight distribution system you have now to work with a 2-1/2" trailer hitch receiver.
