Recommended Trailer Hitch and Cargo Carrier for RV with 4 x 4 Square Bumper
Question:
Great, thank you. Also for a 4-bike rack in the 2” hitch on back of our trailer, what do you recommend?

We currently have five bumper mounted 2" trailer hitch receivers that will work with the 4" x 4" bumper on your trailer. I have attached these options for you but I recommend using the Curt RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver part # E-100. This trailer hitch uses steel plates to surround the bumper as opposed to the u-bolts in the other options. The steel plates will provide more support and also look much better than the u-bolt options.
If you also need a cargo basket for your generator and gas cans then I recommend using the Curt Cargo Carrier part # C18152. This basket has internal dimensions of 60-1/6" long x 23-7/8" wide x 5-11/16" deep. It weighs approximately 62 lbs and has a 500 lb capacity.
Please note that a cargo carrier and or bike rack must be RV approved in order to safely haul it on the back of a trailer. The above cargo basket is approved for use on the back of an RV. Don't forget the support strap part # 18050 for non-towing application.
I have attached an install video of the hitch and review video of the cargo basket for you as well. Please keep in mind that bumper itself must also be rated for use with a hitch.
