Adapter for Allowing Taillight Circuits of Semi Truck to Tow RV Style Taillight Circuit
Question:
I have a Trailer Connector Adapter - Vehicle End - 7-Pole Round to 7-Way Blade Code:HM47425 Hooked it up to a Mack tractor to tow a new RV landscape trailer. Every thing works on the trailer except for the brake lights.?? When I pull the tractor trailer with the 7-way round everything works including the brake lights?? What do I need to do to get it to work with the RV trailer brake lights? Have a great day,

Expert Reply:
The problem is that tractor trailer taillights have separate brake lights from turn signals and RV trailer wiring typically has combined.
You'd have to wire in a signal converter like the # RM-732 on the adapter so that you can combine the stoplight into the RV style trailer wiring.
