Suspension Bushing for 1960s Camper Trailer
Question:
Hello, I have an old camper setup that Im looking to spruce up. I found that I will need to replace the bushing between the frame and shackle. The problem is my local parts dealer states they no longer manufacture the bushing style/size that I need. Its a component of rubber and metal . I can at some point provide the measurements but Im curious if this is true and/or what my options are. Im trying to avoid having my trailer manipulated to change a simple part. I have considered manufacturing a custom metal in place of the rubber component and adding a standard nylon bushing. But if I can save the time and money.... Thank you for your time,

It sounds like you need new leaf spring bushings # TRBU11566 for your 1960s trailer. For reference I have linked our pages for suspension bushings in particular and for various trailer suspension parts in general. I also included a helpful article on trailer suspensions.
You do not mention your specific bushing size so you can review the linked bushing page to see the items we stock. You can click on the length and inner and outer dimensions you need to see what we offer in that size. Both bronze and plastic types are offered.
