Brake Controller Recommendation for 2012 Kia Sorento
Question:
I have a ‘12 Sorento EX V6 AWD with the factory tow prep package and class III hitch with the Hopkins 4 way to 7 way adapter HM47810. I’d like to add a brake controller to this setup. What would be the best way to achieve this?

Since you already have a 4-way to 7-way adapter, to add a brake controller I recommend using the Brake Controller Wiring Kit # 5506. This wiring kit will allow you to wire your brake controller to your 7-way in a similar way to the # ETBC7 kit that includes the 4-way to 7-way adapter.
For your brake controller I recommend the Prodigy P3 # 90195. This is a proportional controller that will apply your trailer brakes at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply the brakes in your Sorento. This will give you an easy to use controller with preset brake boost options and a LCD screen for diagnostic information.
