The Derale Dyno-Cool Tube-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D12904 that you referenced would be a good choice for you 2003 Chevy Silverado as long as you have the necessary clearance in front of your radiator and AC condenser. This product measures 15-1/4 inches Wide x 10 inches tall x 3/4 deep.

Transmission coolers are not too hard to install. I have installed a couple of them and they were not too bad at all. You may also be interested in purchasing Derale GM Radiator Adapters # D13018 so you will not have to cut or flair any metal lines.

I attached an FAQ article on transmission coolers as well as an installation video of a transmission cooler being installed on a vehicle for you to check out. In most vehicles you will not need to remove the front bumper to install the cooler. This was done in the video for better camera angles.
