Which Brake Controller Can Be Easily Transferred Between Tow Vehicles
Question:
Is there a trailer brake controller for pop up camper that can be moved between 2014 Subaru Outback and 2007 Toyota Sienna? IE can the wiring be installed in each vehicle and the controller plug/unplug from each vehicle as needed.

If you will be towing your pop-up camper with multiple tow vehicles then the best brake controller we have for you is the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # TK94FR. The Prodigy RF is a wireless controller that will not require any alterations to the tow vehicle as it installs on the trailer. You will however need a working 7-way on both vehicles in order to use the controller.
In order to add a 7-way trailer connector to a 2007 Toyota Sienna you will first need a 4-way trailer connector and for that I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118304 which is a plug and play harness that will not require any cutting or splicing. You will then need a 4 to 7-way adapter like the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole part # 37185. In order to run the black power wire from the trailer connector to the battery I recommend using part # 10-1-1 (per foot) and part # 9510. The white ground wire is the only other connection you will need to make once you attach the two 4-way plugs together.
The same process listed above will apply to a 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon as well but you will need a different 4-way trailer connector. For this, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118467 which is also a plug and play harness that will not require any cutting or splicing.
I have attached a review video of the brake controller and install video of both 4-way harnesses for you as well. This will be the best option to tow your pop-up camper with multiple vehicles.
