How Close to the Cab Will the Curt X5 Adapter be Installed on a 2013 Ford F-350 Short Bed
Question:
I have a 2013 F350 short bed with an auxiliary transfer fuel tank in the bed sits below bed rails and I have a B and W turnover ball gooseneck installed, but am looking for a 5th wheel sliding hitch to use. The problem I am running into is that I only have 14inch of clearance from the center of the turnover ball opening to the fuel tank. Will this product fit in this space, and do you have any other recommendations?

On the Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter # 16310 the distance from the center of the gooseneck ball hole in the truck to the end of the X5 closest to the truck cab is approximately 13 inches so if you have 14 inches then it will fit!
For a 5th wheel slider hitch I recommend the Curt A20 # C16541. This hitch is rated for 20,000 pounds gross trailer weight and features a cushioned head for better ride quality when towing. I have included a link to a video review of this hitch for you.
