4-Way Connector Compatible With Honda Gold Wing and Trailer With LED Lighting
Question:
Hello, A 2006 Cobra XL conversion California Side Car trike kit installed on a Goldwing is going to be connected to a trailer that has LED lighting. The trailer has a 4 pin flat connector. The trike has a 6 pin square, but only five of the wires are related to the project. The 6th wire is for aux lighting and is not needed. The trike has incandescent lighting. The square connector will either removed and the connection hard wired or replaced. The question is . . . will the Tekonsha 119130 converter/isolator be the appropriate item to buy for the this application? The goal is isolating the trike circuit and avoid any issues with either circuit, incandescent and LED. Plus convert the 5 pin wiring to a 4 pin. Thanks

The correct kit for your Honda Gold Wing to connect to your trailer with LED lights is the Tekonsha ZCI Circuit Protected ModuLite with 4 Pole Harness and Hardwire Kit # 119250KIT. You will need this kit because your Gold Wing has the stop light function separate from the turn signals, or what is called a 3-wire system. This kit will adapt your Honda's 3-wire system to work with your trailer's 2-wire system. Additionally, it is compatible with LED lights on your trailer so there will be no issues in that regard.
I've attached a link to a video review of this kit for you to check out, as well as a help article on trailer wiring which you may find useful.
