Recommended Camera to Mount on Trailer for Highway Rear Viewing
Question:
I am having a heck of a time trying to view the traffic behind my trailer. I am *NOT* interested in traditional backup cameras which are pretty much useless in viewing high speed highway traffic. I have extended side mirrors on my Ford Escape, but I still cannot see clearly behind me. I am looking for a camera that has the same optics as my rear view mirror has when I am not towing my trailer. I would prefer a wired solution, but would consider a wireless option if necessary. I have been looking for months without success. Can you please help me ?

I have the perfect solution for your towing situation!
I recommend going with the Rear View Safety Universal Backup Camera System # RVS-770619N. It comes with a 7" monitor that replaces your current rear view mirror. The monitor can also be used as your normal everyday mirror due to the material of the screen.
This comes with one camera and 66' of cable. Simply connect the power to a circuit that either turns on when your Ford Focus is started, or that is connected to the running lights so that you can activate the camera when needed. The camera features a 130-degree viewing angle and 18 infrareds that give you up to 50' of night vision.
Since you will be mounting the camera to your trailer I also recommend using the Trailer Tow Quick Connect Kit # RVS-213-613 to make hooking up your trailer quick and easy. The monitor actually has the capacity for 2 more cameras like part # RVS-777 so if you would like to eventually add more cameras I recommend going with the Trailer Tow Quick Connect/Disconnect Kit # RVS-2133 instead.
I have attached some review videos and installation details for you to reference as well. Please be sure to obey any traffic laws about monitor use in your area.
