Does Edge EZ Programmer Need OBD-II Port to Install on Freightliner?
Question:
I am doing a cummins swap and I am interested in programmers to change performance levels on the fly. I have an industrial 5.9 cummins engine out of a 2001 MT-45. Since its not a dodge it doesnt have a seperate PCM with an OBD-II port. Just the data-link wires. My question is will this be able to add or change performance to this style of cummins engine or must I have an OBD-II port? If this will not work what programmer will work with the freightliner industrial 24 valve engine? Thank you,

The Edge EZ for Dodge Cummins 5.9L, 24V # EZD1000A does not require an OBD-II port to install, as you can see in the linked instructions; you will only need to plug the EZ connectors into the ECM Data Link connection and MAP sensor. This programmer is designed to be used with a 5.9L Cummins 24V engine like you have so it will work for you.
