Recommended Roof-Mounted Bike Rack for 2012 Toyota Highlander Factory Crossbars

I have a Volvo/Thule rack with Proride bike carriers. Weve sold the Volvo and have acquired an 2012 Toyota Highlander with factory cross bars. Is there an adapter that will let us use the Proride bike carriers with the Toyota cross bars? The Volvo mounting used t-bolts.

There is no adapter available that will allow you to use the Thule ProRide on your 2012 Toyota Highlander's factory crossbars; you need a different bike rack to accommodate those bars. According to Thule, the UpRide Roof Bike Rack # TH599000, which is a clamp-on bike carrier, is a fit for your Highlander's factory crossbars.

The UpRide is a wheel-mounted bike carrier which uses padded hooks to secure your bikes by the front wheels so you don't have to take the wheel off and put it back on when you want to go for a ride. It secures the rear wheels with sliding cradles and has an integrated cable lock to secure your bike to the rack.

The UpRide # TH599000 has a rubber-coated stainless steel strap which tightens over the front crossbar and a bracket which clamps around the rear crossbar so you don't have to worry about it fitting in different crossbar channels in the future.

You can lock the rack to the vehicle with Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders # TH450200 which are a quantity of two, or for two racks you could get a quantity of 4 cylinders with # TH450400 so they are keyed alike.
