Can the Thule Camber 2 # TH9058 be Used on a 5th Wheel Trailer  

Question:

Interested in purchasing a Thule 2 bike rack, Part# TH9058. This hitch will be used on my 5th wheel trailer and also on my 2018 Ram 2500 which has a 2 1/2 inch receiver. There is a 2 inch slide in adapter that came with the truck.

As much as I would love to help you find out a way to use the Thule Camber 2 # TH9058 for your application, it has not been tested and approved for use at the rear of a 5th wheel trailer. Since the trailer hitch on a 5th wheel (or even a travel trailer) sits further back from the rear axle than it does on a vehicle, there is a lot more stress which some bike racks cannot handle. The Roadway is one of them.

For your application you can go with the Curt Clamp-On 3 Bike Rack # C18013. It can hold up to 3 bikes with a max capacity of 135 lbs. You can add locks to the bike rack with parts # e98886 and # RM-305. Since most bike racks have a specific thread they use for the hitch pin there wouldn't be a way to have a hitch pin for a 2-1/2" receiver fit with the threads. Since this bike rack only connects to a ball mount, you can use a ball mount like part # C45030. You just need to ensure that there is 1-1/2" of space on the shank of the ball mount for the bike rack.

We also have several bike racks that you could use on a 5th wheel, and them on your truck. Take a look at the Swagman Trailhead # S63381, Yakima LongHaul # Y02476, and the Swagman XP 3 # S64940. These are all great racks that would meet your needs.
