Can a Universal Trailer Wiring Kit be Installed on a 2009 Ford Edge
Question:
Is there any reason I cant wire my ford edge old school ? Doesnt have Amber turn signals. Just a simple trailer , no trailer brakes

If you really wanted to use a universal wiring kit as opposed to a custom kit, like part # 118551, for your 2009 Ford Edge then you very well can.
We typically try to recommend kits that have a 12V power lead run to the battery, like part # 119179KIT, over the simpler kits like part # 18252 because they draw power directly from your battery and will not overload your circuits. Since these have about the same price-point as the custom options I would just go with a custom option.
Should you go with the kit # 18252 just be mindful that you could potentially overload your circuits from the draw of the trailer lights.
Installation details for the different kits have been linked for you to check out as well.
