Recommended Roof Box or Cargo Bag with Weight Capacity for 4 Suitcases

I can fit 4 full size suitcases on the roof and use straps the roof will support 275 lbs so it it better to just tie them to the roof using straps?Thule Co only 110lb weight?

Based on the answer page you asked the question from, the Thule Force XT XXL Rooftop Cargo Box # TH6359B is in fact rated for a 165 lb capacity. The Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box # TH629906 is also rated at 165 lbs. Most of these boxes won't be rated higher than this because the roof racks are not rated higher, but they can handle more weight as long as your roof rack and roof can support it. The company makes these ratings to limit liability and increase customer safety.

You will notice even roof baskets made of steel like # RMCB02 will be rated with that 165 lb capacity or less for the same reasons. It is recommended to stay within these limits versus strapping suitcases directly to the roof.
