B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch Options for 2017 Ford F-250

Question:

I have the older model of the companion hitch that uses U-bolts to connect the shaft to the base. Is there any reason I cant use this older 5th wheel hitch on my 2017 F250 without replacing the base?

The 2017 Ford F-250 can be factory-equipped with a 5th wheel rail kit that allows installing specialized versions of hitches, such as the B&W Companion Slider hitch # BWRVK3370. This hitch is made for short-bed trucks with the factory rail kit and installing it means simply dropping it into the four pucks in the bed. No standard 5th wheel base rails are needed for this hitch in such a truck.

You can choose your truck's configuration on the page I linked for you. Find your combination of drive-train, bed length and whether or not your 2017 F-250 has the rail kit option.

If you happen to have a hitch that is intended for industry-standard above-bed 5th wheel base rails it can still be installed in a truck with the special factory rail kit by using the Reese adapter # RP30156.

Please feel free to submit a photo of your hitch along with details on your truck configuration and we will be glad to assist further.
