Recommendations for Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2018 Buick Envision

Question:

I am looking at a 2018 Buick Envision Premium II with adaptive cruise control. I want to flat tow all wheels down with my motorhome. I am considering the Roadmaster EZ5 base plate for the Buick and the Sterling Roadmaster tow bar with the Roadmaster invisibrake product. Is there any issues with this combination of product with this car? Do you have a recommendation for a base plate and tow bar and brake for the Buick Envision car and motorhome? Quality of product and ease of use of product is a higher priority than cost. Thank you!

You are on the right track for sure. As far as ease of use and performance the best option for supplemental braking would be the SMI DUO part # SM99251 over the Invisibrake. The DUO is our installers favorite kit as it's the simplest to install of the permanent install kits and works the best while being very reliable.

As far as the tow bar and base plate the Roadmaster products will work very well. The EZ5 kit part # RM-523188-5 is a confirmed fit and the Sterling tow bar part # RM-576 is one of the nicest and easiest to use options on the market. This would be a great choice. This tow bar comes with safety cables and an umbilical wiring harness as well so that's two less things you'd have to get separate. For lighting then the diode kit part # RM-154 would be the best option. Since a fuse needs to be pulled before you can flat to your vehicle you'll also want the fuse bypass # RM76512.

Most likely you will also need a high low adapter so that the tow bar will be level when you are flat towing. I attached a link to a page that has all of the ones we carry.

I have included a couple of helpful links to our articles on flat towing for you. Be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual for more specific information on flat towing your vehicle.
