Troubleshooting a Prodigy P2 Electric Brake Controller Showing S.H
Question:
I just bought a brand new camper and had a third party install the brake controller. When the trailer is plugged in the controller shows S.H. is blinking. The brakes do not engage and the manual over ride doesnt work either also instead of showing c. It shows the voltage and when brake is applied it shows c. I believe that should be reversed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The S.H code on your Prodigy P2, part # 90885, means there is a short on the brake output wire (blue wire). Start by cleaning the 5 O'clock pin on your truck's 7-way trailer connector. Also clean the corresponding pin in the 7 O'clock position on the trailer's connector.
If the solution isn't that easy then you're going to need to check the backside of the truck's 7-way and make sure it's clean as well. Then trace the wire throughout the truck looking for any damaged or pinched wires.
Also, are there any test lights on the truck's connector? Those lights will sometime cause a controller to react like there's a short.
If none of this helps you find the solution let me know and we'll keep troubleshooting.
