Tekonsha Prodigy Wireless Brake Controller Compatibility and Installation
Question:
Will this work with a 2018 BMW X3? It has both a 4 pin and 7 blade receptacle so I imagine the 7 blade has 12v power.

The Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # TK94FR is compatible with the 7-way on your 2018 BMW X3. It will be functional as long as it can capture the brake light signal from pins at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions and has power on the 1 o'clock position pin. I've attached a photo to assist. You can check those pin functions using a circuit tester like # PTW2993.
If you don't have 12V power and there is not a fuse missing, you can wire that pin using # 10-1-1 and circuit breaker # 9510 directly to the positive terminal of your battery to make this controller work properly.
