What is the Correct Blue Ox Weight Distribution System for a 2018 Coleman Light 2515RL Camper
Question:
I need help with purchasing a Blue OX Sway Pro WD hitch for a new Coleman Camper we just purchased. The trailer is a 2018 Coleman Light 2515rl, and the hitch weight is 566lbs. The dry weight is 5,260 lbs. The payload is 2,340 lbs. So I would like to be sure that I get the correct model of Blue Ox Sway Pro Weight Distributing hitch.

Helpful Expert Reply:
The correct Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution for you would depend on the total tongue weight of your towing setup which is composed of the loaded ready to tow tongue weight of the trailer and any cargo stored behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.
As long as these figure does not exceed 1,000 lbs, I recommend using part # BXW1000 which is rated for a total tongue weight between 750 lbs and 1,000 lbs. Any easy way to find your total tongue weight would be with a scale like part # e9980 or by using a commercial truck scale.
In order to use the above system you will need a hitch ball with a 1-1/4" diameter shank and for that I recommend part # 19286 assuming the 2-5/16" ball is correct for your trailer. I have attached a review/install video of the Blue Ox system for you as well.
