Is a 175/80R13 Spare Tire Compatible with Trailer Tires Size 185/80R13?
Question:
my trailer has st185/80r13 tires but my spare is a st175/80r13. will it hurt to use the spare since one side will be a 185 and the other a 175?

The 175/80R13 will have a 24 inch diameter, whereas the 185/80R13 tires will have a 24.7 inch diameter. It is not recommended to use the different diameter tires as the tire wear and load will not be evenly dispersed and can lead to issues.
I recommend using a spare with not only the same tire size but also with the same load rating. Even with a spare tire, you should always use tires of the same size, load range, and construction on a trailer. If you use tires that don't match, you could experience problems of overloading and overheating, which can lead to tire failure.
