Primus IQ # TK90160 Showing NC When Trailer is Connected to 2016 Ford F-150
Question:
I installed a tekonsha prius iq on my 2016 f150 ecoboost. When I hook up my trailer I get a nc code. The lights work but not the trailer brakes. Do I need to take to the dealer to flash the computer?

Sometimes a vehicle will need to be flashed when a brake controller is installed, but in the case of your 2016 Ford F-150 I think it may just be a matter of the wiring circuit not being complete.
Start off by using a circuit tester like part # PTW2992 to test the pin in the 1 o'clock position for a constant 12V of power and then also check for a signal on the 5 o'clock pin when you set the Primus IQ # TK90160 to the highest setting and use the manual override lever. If you get signals on both pins (see attached photo) then this means that there is a problem with the wiring on your trailer side of things.
If you do not get a signal on either wire then the problem is that the wires for the 12V power and your brake controller have not been run all the way to your 7-Way. Check your driver's side frame rail for two wires, one if blue for a brake controller and the other is orange or red for 12V power. If these are not connected to your 7-Way then you will need to complete the circuit with some wiring.
Let me know if you are still having issues and I can help you troubleshoot further.
