Recommendation For Weight Distribution System For 37 Foot Grand Design Travel Trailer
Question:
I have a 2017 chevy 2500 Denali. I am pulling a 37 foot Grand Design 308bhts travel trailer. It is set up with a 2 5/16 ball. What would you recommend that I install to reduce sway and make hauling it easier? Thanks.

In order to get the right Weight Distribution (WD) system for your towing setup, you need to know your actual Tongue Weight (TW) when fully loaded and ready to tow. You will also need to include any weight from behind the rear axle of your 2017 Chevrolet 2500 Denali. To make this easier, I recommend using something like the Etrailer Trailer Tongue Weight Scale, Item # 5780. As you determine this weight, keep in mind that the TW is 10% to 15% of the total loaded weight of your trailer.
After you have that Tongue Weight (TW) figured out, your ideal WD system will be one where the total TW of your towing setup falls in the middle of the TW range of the WD system.
For example, if the TW of your loaded trailer is 850 lbs to 1,125 lbs then the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System with 4-Point Sway Control, Item # EQ37120ET, is great option because it has a TW range of 800 lbs to 1,200 lbs with a maximum gross towing weight of 12,000 lbs as well as the sway control.
However, if your fully loaded and ready to tow TW is between 1,100 lbs to 1,325 lbs then the Equal-i-zer system, Item # EQ37140ET, is what you need because it has a TW range of 1,000 lbs to 1,400 lbs with a maximum gross towing weight of 14,000 lbs.
Both systems include an adjustable head assembly, 2-5/16 inch hitch ball, adjustable shank, and all the hardware needed to install and use the WD system. To make installation of the hitch ball easier, I recommend getting the Vanadium steel 1-7/8 inch 12pt Socket, Item # ALL643216.
If these will not work for you, let me know and I will make other recommendations.
