How to Find the Stop Light Wire for Brake Controller Installation on a 2006 Toyota Highlander

Question:

Hello, I recently bought a brake controller from you for my 2006 toyota highlander. There is discrepancy between what Ive read on the brake wire color/ location on the new vs. old 2006 highlander. What color/ location is the brake wire that I should splice into the controller? Thanks

The best way to find the stop light wire is to test the wiring on the brake switch with a test light # PTW2993. You want the wire that only shows a signal when the brake pedal is pressed. If you find a wire that also shows a signal when the head lights are on and/or when the turn signals are engaged, it is not the correct wire.

From what I could find, this wire may be green with a white stripe.
