Can Roadmaster 7-Wire to 6-Wire Coiled Cord be Used on Vehicle with Blue Ox Base Plates/Tow Bar
Question:
I have a Blue Ox hitch. Can I use the Roadmaster cord to connect my motor home to my vehicle or must it be a Blue Ox cord?

You can definitely use the Roadmaster # RM-146-7 over the Blue Ox # BX88206 even if you have a Blue Ox base plate kit/tow bar setup. The only time that you need to use specific wiring is when the wiring is built-in to the tow bar.
If you don't already have the wiring on the vehicle then you ay be interested in the Roadmaster Kit # RM-15267 instead. This has the same connectors that you mentioned plus the diodes and wiring needed for a complete installation. This kit is pretty universal, but if you can let me know what the year/make/model is of your vehicle I can let you know if it is compatible and if you need anything else.
