Recommendation for Brake Controller to Install on AG Tractor
Question:
wondering if the tekonsha prodigy P2 brake controller would work with an ag tractor at 0 to 30 mph? I understand it feels the braking of the vehicle and applys the brakes accordingly.

You are correct in that the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885 is a proportional unit, which means it will apply the trailer brakes in correspondence to the rate of deceleration on the tow vehicle. Since your AG Tractor will top out at just 30mph (and likely slower than that when pulling a trailer), a proportional controller like this one will not be your best option. I did talk with my contact at Tekonsha and he agrees that you likely won't get the type of power to the trailer brakes that you are wanting simply because of the rate of deceleration you will be looking at.
If you are able to install a brake controller on your tractor, a better option will be a time delayed controller like the Tekonsha PowerTrac # 39523. Unlike a proportional controller, this time-delayed model will allow you to set the braking intensity to your preference. This same braking power (that you set) will then be sent back to the trailer brakes every time you brake on your tractor, regardless of how fast you are going or how hard you slam on the brakes.
I have attached a short video demonstration on this product, along with the written installation instructions that you can take a look at.
