ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness 119250KIT Installation in 2007 BMW X5
Question:
I had a estimate for a oem wiring harness it was $258.00 with a $500.00 installation charge and said it all so had to programmed to the bmw. My question to you is what makes this diffent that there is no need to program? Is this completely save for my bmw and will it work properly. I assume that is guaranteed to work? Two weeks ago I purchased draw-Tite hitch and installed it and the instructions were very good and I had no problems. Thank You.

The pricing and installation of OEM wiring products is outside our experience but as with hitches, wiring kits from a dealership are typically much more costly than aftermarket products. Depending on how those OEM parts install there could be a need for additional modifications on the vehicle for such dealer-installed items.
These modifications are NOT needed with the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT because it does not directly connect to any vehicle wiring, only to the car's battery to get 12V power. The ZCI uses only magnetic sensors, not hardwired connections, to gather the vehicle lighting signals it needs to operate the trailer lights. This installation method also enables you to move this harness to a new vehicle in the future.
Since this is a universal product that can work on virtually any vehicle it is important that you follow the specific installation process for your particular vehicle. For reference I have linked an installation video for a BMW X5.
