Troubleshooting a Brake Signal that Overrides the Turn Signal on Trailer Tail Lights
Question:
I have two wires on a brake tail and turn light. I determined which was the running light an connected it to one wire. I wired the brake and the turn signal to another wire and when I press the brakes the blinker stops. How do i get the blinker and the brake to work at the same time?

Since the stop and turn signals are combined on trailer wiring it sounds like you may have a ground issue.
Start off by checking the connector on your trailer making sure it is clean and free of debris. If that looks good then move on to the main ground and the grounds for your lights. They need to be securely connected to a clean, bare metal surface. Even some paint can cause issues.
If those look good then you will need to inspect the wiring on your trailer for any places where it is pinched or damaged and replace as necessary.
Let me know if this doesn't fix your problem and I can help you troubleshoot further.
