Can Heavier Round Bars be Used with the Pro Series Weight Distribution System
Question:
Currently have the pro series 49903 hitch. Is there a replacement spring bar in the 1200lb range vs the 1000lb round bar it came with or do I need to purchase a new heavier rated hitch?

The Weight Distribution (WD) hitch head that comes with your specific Pro Series System is only compatible with bars that have a max capacity of 1,000 lbs. If you need a higher rated system then you will need to get a different WD system.
If you want a similar system then we have the Curt MV # C17063 which uses round bars and a friction sway control device. This system has a Tongue Weight (TW) range of 1,000 lbs - 1,400 lbs and comes with everything that you need.
I recommend going with the Curt TruTrack # C17501 though for a few different reasons. It has a TW range of 1,000 lbs - 1,500 lbs, uses trunnion arms which give you more ground clearance, and has a built-in anti-sway system that allows you to backup without disengaging anything. This system also comes with everything that you need to tow your trailer.
Please note that you need to choose a WD system with a TW range that the Total Tongue Weight (TTW) of your towing setup falls in the middle of. To find the TTW of your towing setup you will need to add the TW of your fully loaded and ready-to-go trailer along with the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. Keep in mind that a properly loaded trailer will have a TW that is 10-15% of the loaded weight of your trailer.
I have attached review videos of both systems for you to reference as well.
