Does Weight Distribution Stop Persistent Trailer Sway

Question:

I have a 2016 Toyota Tundra TRD rated at 9,400lbs of towing capacity. I have a 2005 Eclipse Attitude 21AK bumper pull toy hauler with a GVW of 11,000lbs. I’ll most likely never be at the max VW for the toy hauler, but what is the best weight distribution system for my set up? I currently have a Husky system rated for 15,000lbs, but I sway pretty bad even when the camper is at about 5,000lbs.

Your weight distribution system seems to be the correct rating for your trailer. The fact you are getting sway though is not direcly related to it. WD systems are great at minimizing sway from passing semi trucks and high winds but they are not designed to prevent persistent sway as that's a loading problem. You need to get as much weight forward in the trailer as you can as it sounds like your tongue weight is too low. You also want to make sure your trailer is sitting as level as possible and that your trailer suspension is worn out. Also you can check to make sure your tires are inflated to the max psi for them that is on the sidewall of the trailer.
