Best Way to Carry a Beach Cruiser on a 2018 Volvo XC60

In order to carry the beach cruiser bike on your 2018 Volvo XC60 you are going to want to use a trailer hitch and hitch mounted bike rack. The beach cruiser would be too heavy to use a roof mounted bike rack and we do have the trunk mounted bike rack # Y02634 available for you but I don't recommend a trunk rack for heavier bikes. Therefore, a hitch will be your only option. The hitch will require trimming of the rear lower bumper valance but the bikes will be easier to load/unload this way.

For a trailer hitch, I recommend using the Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver part # SH87FR. This hitch has a 2" receiver tube opening which will allow for a greater variety of bike racks to be used in addition to providing a connection point for a trailer should the need arise. As mentioned above, a slight trimming of the rear bumper fascia will be required which you can see in the attached photo. Then for a bike rack, you will need something that works with the fenders on your bike in addition to the alternative frame. For this, I recommend the Thule Doubletrack Pro XT Bike Rack part # TH92BJ. This bike rack can be folded up for storage, comes with locks for the bike/rack, and has a lifetime warranty.
