Parts Needed to Install Curt Echo Brake Controller on 2014 BMW X5 with 4-Way Connector
Question:
I have a 4 pin light on the vehicle. I have the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller. What part do I need to get my 4 pin on my vehicle to a 7 pin to plug in to the brake controller?

To install the Curt Echo Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 on your 2014 BMW X5 that is already equipped with a 4-Way, you will just need the Hopkins 4-Pole to 7-Pole Adapter # 37185, some 10 Gauge Wire # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot), and a 40 amp Circuit Breaker # 9510.
To install these parts, you will simply plug your existing 4-Way into the 7-Way adapter, and then run the black wire from the adapter to the BMW's positive battery post with the 10 gauge wire through the mentioned circuit breaker. This is the only circuit you need to complete on the adapter. Once this connection is made, you are ready to go!
