Recommended Trailer Hitch and Bike Carrier for 2011 Toyota Prius

Question:

Looking for a class 1 hitch for a Toyota Prius 2011 with 2” receiver. Have a bike rack for a 2” already and want to use it on my other car. Only product I see is adapter and cuts weight by 50 which rack is 50lbs and each bike is 35 putting me over the 100lbs any ideas?

For your 2011 Toyota Prius, we at this time don't have a fit for a 2 inch receiver from any of our manufacturers. My recommendation is to use the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24847 and a bike rack compatible with the 1-1/4 inch receiver.

Let me know your current bike rack and I'll see if there is a replacement shank to make it compatible with the smaller hitch. If not, I recommend the Thule Doubletrack Pro XT Bike Rack # TH92BJ which is compatible with the Class 1 Hitch and 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. This bike rack includes the locks needed to secure your bike to the rack.

I don't recommend using a hitch expander as you referenced due to the reduced tongue weight as well as the additional movement created by adding another accessory.
