I spoke with my contact at Rola and he said that the Rola 59834 has not yet been tested as a fit on the 2012 Mazda 5, so I can not tell you if it will fit or not.

I would recommend the Thule Roof Rack, part # TH460R, part # TH711200, and part # THKIT3080. This roof rack will attach to the preset mounting points on your 2012 Mazda 5. This roof rack has a weight capacity of 165 lbs, but anytime you will be hauling cargo on your roof you will want to check with the owners manual or the Mazda dealer for the roof weight capacity of your 2012 Mazda 5. Your weight capacity would be whichever one is the lowest of the two weight capacities. The WingBars are also available in black # TH711220.

You can attach a soft cargo bag directly to the roof rack cross bars. I would recommend the Thule Outbound Roof Top Cargo Bag, part # TH868. This soft cargo bag will hold 13 cubic feet and comes with its own storage bag.

Before using a cargo bag that will sit directly on the roof of your vehicle, you will want to ensure that the roof and the bottom of the cargo bag are ABSOLUTELY clean and grit-free to avoid scratching the paint. A good coat of quality car wax is a good idea, as well.
