Adjustable Ball Mount for Easier Leveling of Hitched 7 x 12-Foot Enclosed Trailer
Question:
I am new to towing. I just purchased a 7x12 enclosed trailer. Approximately 1,200 pounds. What type of trailer ball hitch connection do I need? I will need a 2/5/16 ball.

Towing your 7 x 12-foot enclosed trailer will of course require a hitch and wiring on the vehicle and also a ball mount and hitch ball. Since you know you need a 2-5/16-inch hitch ball all you really need to select the correct ball mount is to refer to the linked article that explains how to choose the right one to keep the hitched trailer's frame level with the ground. Level trailers handle much better so this is worth the time and effort to get it right.
The other option that many prefer is to choose an adjustable type ball mount like Curt # C45900 that allows you simple and quick adjustment, and it includes two sizes of hitch ball too. This adjustable mount allows for a range of height from about 6-inches of drop up to 5-inches of rise, which will cover a wide range of trailer frame heights.
