Choosing Weight Distribution/Sway Control for 2018 Jayco Flight 26BH Tandem Axle Travel Trailer
Question:
I was wondering if this will be able to be put on a 2018 Jayco 26BH pulled by a 2016 Chevy Colorado? Im curious about the length of the bars vs the placement of my battery box and LP tanks?

We can help you select a weight distribution system such as the Curt TruTrack # C17500 for your 2018 Jayco Flight 26BH tandem axle travel trailer.
The key to picking out the right system is knowing the actual loaded trailer tongue weight (TW). Specs indicate a dry hitch weight of 520-lbs and a gross weight (GVWR) of 7000-lbs. The best way to know your actual TW is to use the # e99044 which makes it easy to accurately and frequently measure your loaded TW. This enables you to know the trailer is loaded properly to give you the right amount of TW, generally 12- to 14-percent of the gross weight.
To the actual measured TW of the fully-loaded trailer you need to add the weight of any cargo in the Colorado that is routinely stowed behind the rear axle, such as a generator or a big loaded cooler. This cargo weight plus the measured TW tells you what you need to know. Ideally this total TW will fall in the middle of the operating range for the system. The Tru-Track # C17500 works for TW from 800- to 1000-lbs, making it perfect for a 900-lb total TW. Other similar systems can offer a wider working TW range.
The lift brackets for this setup need to mount approximately 31-inches behind the center of the hitch ball, about 4-inches from the ends of the bars. You can measure to see if your tongue-mounted accessories will pose any issues. The brackets are smaller than many (only 2-inches wide) and will tend to fit better in some instances.
