Can you remove one of the racks to make it a one bike rack?

The Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Bike Platform Rack, Item # TH69TX, is designed to carry two or four bikes. You can However, you can remove one part of the rack to make it the 2-bike version and then carry only one bike and leave one rack empty. This is the most that you can do for stability and security and to keep your warranty in place.
If you need a one bike rack, I recommend the RockyMounts HighNoon FC Solo Bike Rack for 1 Bike Item # RKY87RR.
