How High Does the Replacement WD Head # RP58167 Sit When Used with the WD Shank # RP54977
Question:
I have a new Ram 2500 and a SC trunnion WD unit. I need a different shank for this truck. I am wondering what the least is using Reese trunnion head 54980 on a Reese shank 54977. To clearify, if the head is mounted all the way to the top hole in the shank. What is the measurement from the top of the receiver shaft to the top of the trunnion head ball mount?

If you were to use the head from the Replacement Head and Shank # RP54980, (the head only is listed as part # RP58167) with the Reese Titan Weight Dist Shank # RP54977 then the max rise with it in the down position is 4-1/4" while the max rise with it in the upward position is 8-1/4".
I went out to the warehouse and found that from the top bolt to where the hitch ball sits on the Reese WD Head # RP58167 measured about 2-1/4". You can use these measurements to help you determine pretty close to where your hitch ball will sit.
