Recommendation For Roof Rack For 2012 Rockwood 2560 Popup Camper

Question:

Thinking of this product for my 2012 Rockwood 2560 pop up camper. Will this work with the roof line of my camper? Also, I am planning to mount 4-5 bike racks to this. Can you recommend an inexpensive bike rack that can be used with the SR1020? I would need one that keeps the front tire on the bike. Thanks

Depending on your 2012 Rockwood 2560 Popup Camper roof style, the SportRack Pop-Up Camper Roof Rack, Item # SR1020, might work. Unfortunately there is not a bike rack for 4 plus bikes you can put on it. However, you can put four 1-bike racks on it like the Thule UpRide Wheel-Mount Bike Carrier, Item # TH599000.

Another option to consider is going with a dual-purpose ball mount like Item # D210 that works with a 2 inch hitch. It will let you tow your Rockwood popup camper while carrying a bike rack. This hitch has a tongue weight capacity of 750-lbs total and a receiver capacity of 350-lbs. For the receiver, your bikes and bike rack can not exceed 350-lbs. The combined weight of the rack, bikes, and tongue weight of the trailer cannot exceed 750-lbs.

A hitch mounted bike rack that I recommend using with Item # D210 is the Thule Apex 5 Bike Rack, Item # TH9026XT. This rack has a carrying capacity of 5 bikes and a weight capacity of 187.5 pounds. It also includes an anti-rattle device and quick release levers that allow the rack to fold in 2 places.

If you are carrying an alternative frame bike (woman's or child's bike), you will need an adapter like Item # TH982XT.

When using a hitch mounted bike rack and towing a trailer, you will need to ensure that the you do not exceed the towing capacity of your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. This would include your trailer, bikes, bike rack, and hitch system.

I have attached additional information and some videos for you to check out.
