Recommended Firestone Air Helper Springs for 1998 Chevy C/K Series Truck

Question:

I have a 7X14 Enclosed Trailer that I haul for Landscaping. The trailer weighs about 3400 lbs when full. Do I load the trailer onto my hitch and then add my 45 psi to my air bags or do I add the 45 psi before hooking up to the trailer? Also, do I dump the bags before detaching the trailer from hitch or do I detach trailer from hitch and then dump bags? Thank you. 1998 Chevy C/K Series Truck

The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted - Rear Axle # F2025 is a great kit to use for leveling your truck with your trailer load. The order in which you fill or release air isn't a really big deal. You just want to make sure you have a minimum of 5 psi in your air bags at all times to prevent damage. The kit will allow air pressure up to 100 psi based on your driving preference. You will need to adjust your air bags for the most comfort between the allowed range, so the more weight you put in your trailer, the more psi you will add to your springs. The kit comes with brackets, air springs, hardware, air lines, and separate inflation valves for each spring.

You may want to consider adding a compressor system like # F2158 to allow you adjustability at any time from the comfort of your cab as well as a gauge to monitor your air pressure. Let me know if you have further questions.
