Availability of Replacement Lock and Handle for Older Yakima RocketBox 21 Cargo Box

Question:

I have an old 10 years Yakima Rocket Box 21 I think. The lock and handle is gone. I need to find the replacement part. I was looking at the handles available on your site but I think theyre for a newer model Replacement SuperLatch Handle Assemblies for Yakima SkyBox Rooftop Cargo Boxes - Qty 2 - Y8880348. Do you have an old parts list for Yakima?

I spoke with my contact at Yakima regarding your older RocketBox 21 Cargo Box. He did state that the Replacement SuperLatch Handle Assembly # Y8880348 you referenced will not work on your RocketBox. Unfortunately, the particular assemblies that are used on your model box are no longer available as replacement parts.

Your best option might be to simply replace the cargo box with a newer model, like the Yakima SkyBox 21 # Y07337. This is a really nice, aerodynamic storage box that will provide you with 21 cubic feet of carrying capacity. It features a dual-side-opening lid so you can access the inside from either side of your vehicle and a SuperLatch system that will ensure the lid is latched closed and locked. It does include 2 Same Key System (SKS) locks to secure your gear in the box and also secure the box itself to your roof rack crossbars.
